I’m Xena, an illustrator and writer from the southside of Chicago. Raised in chaos, I have built my life from scratch— transforming trauma into comedic and vulnerable storytelling. My work is used as both armor and invitation. I aim to create spaces where honesty, humor, and community intersect.
In 2021, I began selling my artwork at summer fairs and built a remarkably supportive audience. Their encouragement and genuine appreciation for my perspective had empowered me to leave my seven year career with the Chicago Public Library and instead fully embrace my creative journey.
